Hi live in Napier and almost every evening our freeview signal stutters. It gets to the point where it's not worth watching. From 8 - 10 ish is when it's at it's worst, signal strength is generally between 70% - 85% but it's that during the day when it is fine too. any ideas???

nothing wrong with the signal in chb from the same transmitter

be specific some channels in particular or all?

More info needed for specific diagnosis but sounds like it may be some sort of interference. Do you have a Sky modulator in your system? Try turning off everything except the TV and see if the signal improves. Do your neighbours suffer the same problem?

Channels 1,2,3 seem to really have a problem while the lower key channels like choice, tvhb arnt nearly as bad hence why it gets turned to those. We have a dishtv T1020

Hi Mig,

Are you using an outdoor UHF aerial or a indoor aerial?

UHF?

What sort of antenna are you using? Can you post a picture of it?

Should look like one of these.

Sorry about the confusion, please follow the link Biggles has passed on above and determine what sort of antenna you are using

-Indoor Antenna could be rabbit ears or similar

-Outdoor UHF could be the mast that has teeth and faces in a direction to the nearest Freeview transmitter/repeater.

Hi again, it is a UHF
Hi there, it is a UHF

Hi Mig

Can you try the following:

  1. Using your Dish TV remote press the Menu button
  2. Navigate to Installation
  3. Navigate to System Setting
  4. Locate and find  the "Antenna Power" option switch this to "On"

When this option is set to ON your unit will output 5V dc on the aerial socket, this voltage can
be used to power an inline amplier to boost the signal levels.

Hi have just done that but hasn't changed the stuttering
