Hi there,

My Freeview is set up and working on my Sony Smart TV from the SatBox Ultra PVR via a dish but I have 2 problems:

1. The freeview is connected to HDMI 3 but if I connect my laptop on eg HDMI 2, the programs I've booked does not record although the settings are still there. What is the problem?

2. My TV can get freeview plus but I can not get it set up. The internet is connected and I have 2 connections from the dish, one to the PVR and one to the TV. Can anyone please help?

Regards
Marlize

Unless your TV has a satellite tuner as well as UHF (very few do yet) it needs a UHF antenna connected not a satellite dish. Also many new TVs are Freeview Plus capable but have not yet been enabled.

Good Morning

As Biggles has posted, It looks like you are watching Freeview via Satellite using all methods, this includes the Dish TV box you have as well, Freeview Satellite does not yet have FreeviewPlus however never say never, this might be viable in the future.

It looks like you may have a Hybrid (Both Satellite and UHF tuners), can you check to see if you can receive Freeview HD here, just enter in your address and see what options are available to you, if you can get Freeview HD then see if there is a UHF aerial on your house and use that to connect to the RF port on the back of your TV.

FreeviewPlus is activated on some devices, it's an ongoing rollout depending on the model / brand your TV is, it's best to contact the manufacturer of your TV, in this case SONY to see when FreeviewPlus will be enabled.

OK thanks, I am not 100% sure what I have and what not, I do know we have a dish and not an arial. The tech came out to connect all, it's all a bit greek to me...

Yup, I can receive HD but don't have an aerial, only a dish. Sony has a site where you can check your TV and mine is activated for FreeviePlus. So it looks like I'll have to get the UHF antenna to plug straight into the TV right.

Yep that's right, just get an UHF antenna installed and make sure that the cable is plugged into the RF slot on the back of the TV. Then you can enjoy more channels, High Definition and FreeviewPlus and the associated  apps.
