Hi, my name is Patricia, live in spotswood, new plymouth, taranaki, nz.  During the stormy weather we were having here, a few of the channels have dissappeared, they are 1, 2, 5, 6, tv 2 plus 1, which I use to get on channel 7,  that I have noticed.  Are you able to explain to me how I can get these channels back please.

Check your antenna system. Sounds like storm damage. What signal strength do you get on the remaining channels?

Hi there, thank you for your response.  Other channels work well, about a quarter of the color bar shows for the signal on each exiting channel, closer to the half way mark than below.  There is a satellite dish on the roof of the house that is being used for freeview.

OK. Didn't realise you were using a satellite box. If the signal on the channels you are receving are that low then you definitely have a dish problem, either alignment or failing LNB. You probably need to get a pro with the correct equipment to check out the dish.

Awww not what I wanted to hear, but thank you very much, at least I know where I am at now.

Cheer's Biggles.

Had you thought about trying UHF with a Terrestrial STB or Freeview TV and UHF antenna? At least you would be able to watch HD. Much better picture quality than SD Satellite.

Checking the Freeview maps Spotswood seems to be in UHF coverage.

What are your neighbours using? Check if they have UHF antenna on the roof.

You're to helpful, I will take into consideration what you have messaged here, but now it's dark, I will check all this out after work tomorrow.

Have a good evening,

Regards,

Patricia.
