Is anyone else having problems booking via the EPG where bookings are duplicated.

Ever since the +1 channels came on board, when you book a program on 1,2,3 the booking is repeated on the +1 channels the opposite applies resulting in a 1 hour gap between programs.

Is this a flaw in the way EPG controls the bookings or is it the STB confusing the channel that has been booked.

Have this issue on my Dish 7070R and another STB.

Not with my Panasonic. If I book or series link a program on TV1 say, it indicates as booked to record on TV1 and TV1+1 but only records TV1 and not TV1+1. A little confusing but then you can always use timer record to resolve anomalies.

Hi Alan

I have a DishTV 7090 and have the same problem and I am guessing it is just the way the DishTV PVR's operate.

Typically if you book a program to record on TV1 it will always record on TV1 (Even though the booking also shows up on TV1+1). It won't record the program twice.

I think the software developers have chosen to use this method so if you have two other recordings already booked for the same time then the PVR will automatically go and use the +1 channel for the third booking. And you get a message saying that the program will be recorded a later time.

I say this with a grain of salt as the DishTV PVRs do have their fair share of bugs in their firmware.

Here is an example along the same lines....

You have booked: TV1, 8:00 to 8:30 and TV2, 8:00 to 8:30. You also want to book 8:00 to 8:30 on TV3.

If you go to TV3 on the EPG and make the TV3 booking you will be told that the recording will be made at a later time and the program will end up being recorded on TV3+1. That is all working as it should.

However, if you are smarter than the average bear, and know that the PVR is already fully committed between 8:00 to 8:30, So you go to TV3+1 on the EPG and try to make the booking directly there, you will get a message saying that the recording cannot occur as there are already recordings taking place. This should not happen, it is a software bug.  Grrrrr.

Another Alan. (Such a great name.)
