Hi there, I have 0% reception on ALL the channels. Was working fine until a couple of days ago, was then intermittant, and now, nothing. I am in Massey, Auckland. Is anyone else having problems or do I need to get a technician out?

Before you call a technician out there are a few things that might be causing no reception try the following:
- Satellite Dish: Check your satellite dish to see if has become loose overtime due to weather, other circumstances, you will need to also check your LNB (Which is the item in front of the dish pointing at it) to see if it has become loose you can find out more information here at http://freeviewforum.co.nz/page/freeview-satellite-help
-Cables check cables for any damage or connector faults, usually they become loose when plugged into the receiver and LNB or switch or splitter.
If you cannot establish the problem causing this then a technician will be able to correct the fault for you, Have a good search around this forum for other tips that might help with your issue
If you require any further assistance please let me know
Kind Regards

Thanks Joshua. The dish has only been up for 2 years but we did have bad wind a few days ago. Do you think my Freeview Receiver is gettting a bit old? Do they stop working? Love to hear your opinion.
Kindest regards,
Jenny
If the box still boots up OK and displays a Menu then it's more likely your LNB has failed and needs replacing.
However if you are in Massey why not get a UHF box and UHF antenna so you can watch in HD?
The DSE7500 shouldn't just die, they can last years but it is an old receiver, in fact it was the first one introduced when Freeview launched on Satellite so an upgrade might be in store and they are selling quite cheap at retail stores for Christmas so you might get a good deal!
As Biggles suggested, the LNB may need replacing as its probably aged overtime, you can get these on Trade me at cheap prices or your local installer may have these for sale too.
Cheers

Hey Joshua, its only 2 years old. I am thinking the wind may have moved the dish? I had a look outside and everyone's dish is facing the same way?
Will get someone to take a look at that first before I replace the receiver, that's what I should do first ay.
You guys are awesome to try and help me. I'm getting close to being a grey power and i live alone (happily) apart from no TV! And I am missing it!

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the advice and information. I will have a go at it when I'm not tired and if I can't I will get a neighbour to have a go.
Will let you all know what works... :)
Cheers,
Jenny
OK guys I want to get a technician out. Can anyone recommend someone in West Auckland that they have used? Cheers
Hi Jenny
You can locate a local retailer by scrolling down to the bottom of this page: http://www.freeviewnz.tv/equipment-installation/installation.aspx
and select "West Auckland" as your region, there you can find a list of installers with contact details.
Cheers Joshua :)
Thanks
Hi all, well the problem was an old corroded cable that has been sitting on the roof for years. It is now replaced and not on the roof at all. SO HAPPY!!! The technician that came out was awesome! Can thoroughly recommend him: Simon Yates Ph: 021 549 622
Thanks all of you for your help!
Regards,
Jenny
