Hello, we just moved in to a new house and have a uhf aerial and also a dish both have separate connections. But when I connect to the TV socket and auto tune it couldn't scan a single channel and doesn't say any error either. Have a Soniq TV with inbuilt freeview, Could anyone please help me what's exactly am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much.

Trace the cable back from the TV set to the UHF antenna and make sure it is all connected properly. Sounds like there is a break in the signal path somewhere in the cabling.

Hi Thanks for the suggestion. Did try it, but did not help. Is their anything else I can do ? Thanks

There very few reasons I can think of that you cannot get a signal.

A. You are not in a FreeviewHD  UHF reception area. Although as your profile says Auckland then that is unlikely to be the problem.

B. Your TV is tuning with the Analogue and not the Digital Tuner. There are no Analogue transmissions any more. Make sure autotune is tuning Digital UHF.

C. As I said before, the antenna is not connected or it is not suitable for UHF.

Can you post a picture of the antenna? Double check that you haven't connected the Dish cable to the TV instead of the Antenna cable.

Thanks Ravi.

Antenna looks good but I suspect you may be in a low signal area as it's a very narrow beam high gain antenna. Being underneath those High Tension Electric wires won't be helping much either. Check with your neighbours and see what they are using and if they have reception problems too. There doesn't appear to be a masthead amp in the picture but if there is a signal amp anywhere in the line it will need a power supply.

You may need to get a Pro Installer with the appropriate gear to sort it out.

Hi would you be knowing any installer who can give us a cost estimate. cheers
