"If you are in a Freeview UHF area then I'd recommend a UHF STB so you can have HD picture instead of rubbishy satellite SD picture.  You don't say if your bedroom Freeview is Terrestrial or Satellite and you have no profile so we…"

"NO. As long as the antenna cable is connected  to the BWT840 it will record. You can move it anywhere and connect to any other TV to watch recordings. As far as I know you may be able to stream via WiFi to other devices too. I don't think…"

Hi everyone, just joined the world of freeview, with a Panasonic recorder BWT840 setup. (Thanks Biggles!). A quick user question now though: does the tv unit have to stay connected to the recorder via the RF and HDMI cables for the recording to occur naturally? or can it be uncoupled, moved around, then plugged back when we want to watch the recorded shows?Cheers,PhilSee More

"Theoretically both the dish cable and the UHF cable should have f29 connectors on the end. If so then it's just a simple matter of disconnecting both cables and re-connecting the Dish cable to the UHF Antenna instead. Leave the other cable…"

Switching from Sky: Equipment and Set up query

Hi Everyone, yet another ex-sky customer, looking to switch for various disgruntled reasons. We had MySky HDI and are looking for a similar set up, currently do very little streaming. Our main needs are the ability to pause/rewind live TV and to record shows / series to watch at leisure. From what I've been able to read on the Freeview site and here, our best option currently (city Fringe Auckland) is to get MyFreeview HD with a topbox/recorder, as I'm 90% sure we already have a UHF antenna on…See More
