powerboard,powerpoints,fuses,circuit breakers?
Hi Jacinta
The issue is something to do with the circuit of your electricity, As Willis states below It could be something to do with your fuse or other electrical component, Try another appliance in that particular power supply like an alarm clock or lamp and see if they receive any electricity.

plug in your sat box to the power and the tv but not the dish
if everything seems ok plug in the dish
if the satbox dies likely the voltage chip in the lnb has committed suicide
if you unplg the lnb at the dish and the satbox recovers lnb fault
if the satbox still dead then cabling fault
You might possibly need to replace the LNB (which is the machine that is in front of the dish where the cable goes into)
That might need replacing as Willis has said, the chip inside has likely stop working,
LNB's are fairly cheap and can be purchased from local installers or Trademe (Click on the link for the LNB search)
You can install this yourself and use this guide to help or call a local installer do it for you.
