We've had a Dish TV T1050 PVR for a couple of years and it's worked really well. But over the last couple of weeks we've had a few problems:

  • Frequently prompts us to select an alternate time for recordings - stating that there are too many scheduled recordings - when we are in fact recording nothing else
  • Sometimes we can select the alternate time, sometimes not
  • Doesn't record full length of programmes

It all seems to have started at the same time the menus changed (eg, the library menu has new icons etc...).

We have two machines and the problems are common to both.

Anyone else having these issues?

Hi John.
Not sure if you have solved this or not. I have come across this as well but found its due to trying to set a recording when the program has already started.
For example I have the setup as starting recordings 5mins before hand and stop recording 15 mins after, that way I am sure to get the program.
If a show starts at 8pm and I try to record at around 8pm using the EPG guide I get the message. I then use the record button on the remote, which then gives an option of amending the time duration (bottom right I think).
I think that's why you get the message, at least it's the only time I have gotten it.

My problem is after the last firmware update my recorder (T1050) now at least twice a night stops and does a search for an update? Looks like another email to DishTv
