Hi Everyone
Is anyone else with a satelite freeview box having trouble with the sound quality of channel
C4/9, Prime/10 and Trackside/11. Also the time it takes to change channel from these to another
is very very slow.

Hi Shane
C4, Prime and Trackside are not handled by Freeview instead are broadcast by SKY's Frequencies so the quality may differ and the selection timing may be slower then usual as the receiver has to load and lock the signal.
Satellite transmission is not always delivered to the 100% of best quality in SD on Freeview because of the spectrum and the strength of the signal.
You could realign the dish to the perfect sight of Optus D1 and the LNB to correct the time it takes to load C4 and Prime/Trackside.
Kind Regards

Hi,
Have a similar issue with sound quality (with Prime channel only), but for my Samsung TV with inbuilt Freeview (receiving terrestrial signal). Saw that SKY had made satellite changes on both 8th and 16th October. The change on the 8th had no impact, but the change on 16th caused the audio stream for Prime to lag the video feed by up to 3 seconds. Never lost Prime channel feed - just started experiencing the audio lag. All other channels OK. Have tried reloading the channels on the TV, but no improvement.
My TV feed routes through a Pioneer AV receiver, so will look at settings within the AV receiver to see if it is possible to add a delay, and resynch the two feeds. Not sure whether this approach will be channel specific, or affect all channels.
Cheers, Nils
I have a Dish TV unit and the audio is fine for all channels, seeing as the transponders for the three channels are different t may be a case on your sound setup or the equipment you use such as a 5.1 Theater system or receivers to distribute video and audio signals
Kind Regards

Joshua,
Hi. Thanks for the reply. You highlight the issue for me (whether it's a transmission problem, or whether it's something that has changed within my home set-up). The audio lag started on the 16th, so maybe it's coincidence that it started the same day that Sky were doing satellite Freeview changes. We should be taking a terrestrial signal anyway.
It's just that I have not made any conscious change to our AV receiver or TV settings prior to or immediately following that date.
I wondered whether the codecs being used to decode the signal within the AV receiver had been accidentally altered to another setting (still to investigate), but a 3 second lag seems quite large. Will keep experimenting, but did not want to affect the other channels that are still working quite happily.... 8-)
Cheers

Update 21/10/2013 7pm - Success !
I contacted Kordia this morning by e-mail just to get confirmation that it was not a transmission issue. When I arrived home after 5pm this evening, the audio lag had disappeared and normal service had been restored. I also had a phone message to contact a gentleman within Kordia, who confirmed it was an issue their end (and was very glad to hear that a parameter change their end had successfully resolved the issue). A good result for the day.
Cheers,
