Hi There,

I have a Samsung QA55Q80BASXNZ, I use the freeview app to stream tv, it's been working fine for almost a year, however, freeview released an update on 7/12/23 (v 1.1.8), ever since then I'm not able to change channels nor see the ribbon at bottom of screen to change channels.

I've tried removing / reinstalling app, completely reset tv to factory, power drain TV.

Anyone else having similar issue?

Thanks

Hello .. yes I have the same issue. I phoned Freeview yesterday and they said it was a Samsung issue. I do not believe so my Samsung tv less than a year old UA75AU8000SXNZ. I have e mailed Freeview again today. The issue I have since last Thursday when Freeview changed the app with new graphics etc, and hasnt been right since. It  freezes channel after 30 mins and I cant change channels. Deleting and re installing the app doesnt help.  Like you i have tried everything, My 3 yr old Samsung tv is fine with app and all my other devices with freeview app are fine. Hopefully we get an answer from Freeview.

Regards, Garry

I called freeview support as well, they tried to convince me it was my wifi and to try connecting to wired network.  It's intresting the app is working on your older Samsung TV, is the app same version as your newer Samsung TV?

Fingers crossed on reply from freeview

They finally added the issue to their network status page, it wasn't up there yesterday..

Having the same issue with my Samsung Q60BA55TV.

I see they now mention it on the Network Status page.

If I delete and re-install I get the change ribbon back. But as soon as I shut Freeview to watch something else and come back it's gone again. So delete and re-install again, Bloody annoying!!

Yes same issue. Not sure why Samsung tvs seem to be the ones always affected after and update but it is frustrating!

Hi Ben, No its the older version of freeview App on older samsung tv.
