re (but not necessarily total tuning range of the tuner), finds no signals and exits.
Try a manual tune as I suggested. Select one of the Channels as above and there should be some display of signal strength. If there's nothing then you may very well be in a dead area and need to go to satellite reception.
Would be worthwhile getting in a pro installer with all the right gear to investigate signal strength vs antenna location and see if UHF is possible or not.…
blem), but in all the thousands of faulty LNBs I have replaced, I have never seen the message "LCN changed" come up on a satellite receiver as a result of a faulty LNB.
So I still suggest that you phone DishTV and explain your problem to them before doing anything else. They are extremely helpful and may even be able to rectify the problem over the phone for you, if it is something to do with the programming.

other computer, the problem went away.
The affected computer would work fine with a different tuner card.
It was a weird incompatibility between the motherboard and the TBS-6984 quad tuner. Just those two pieces of hardware together caused the fault as described.
Since separating the motherboard from the tuner, I've had a flawless signal since.…

rnoon sun). They are operating in a hostile environment (all weather conditions) with minimal protection located in front of the dish. Early symptoms are the loss of some channels usually at one end of their frequency range. Usually seems to be TV1 and TV2 that disappear first followed by others. Due to poor quality mass production these days they can last anywhere from a short time to many years. Only to be expected as they have become a cheap throw away item.…
ly off and need adjusting and/or the dish has become slightly misaligned. If they return after the sun goes away it could also indicate LNB failing and suffering temperature drift in the oscillator. It's difficult to diagnose the problem without using some Professional Satellite finder gear up at the dish. However it couldn't hurt to try a factory reset and start from scratch and retune everything. If you do then make sure you take a note of all your settings first.…

I am not as technically advanced as you are so I haven't physically adjusted the satellite's azimuth and elevation settings. Is this essential to receive the signals? How can I find out what settings we need and can this be done from the TV rather than going to the roof to physically adjust the dish?
