Hello, I have a Strong SRT4300E box connected to my Samsung TV. It worked perfectly in the last house and the 2 previous to that, however in this new house I am getting "attention! No or bad signal".
It's definitely plugged into the LNB in port, using the cable in the wall which goes to the sky dish. there's another cable in my bedroom and I've tried this box on the TV in there with also no joy. Weirdly, the TV in the bedroom has built-in HD freeview, and yet there is no port on the back where I can plug in the sky cable?!?!?!
I've tried googling to troubleshoot and tried both the 10750 and 11300 LNB antenna settings with no joy. I'm wondering now whether the cable is dodgy? The owners of the house had SKY when they lived here, as did the previous tenants with no issues, however they also said another tenant had freeview and there were no issues then either.
Could anyone please help?

Good Morning Bec.
The Strong SRT is a Satellite receiver which means it uses the Satellite Dish to receive Freeview, The cable is a screw type, the TV in your bedroom uses a different method to get Freeview via a local transmitter, most new TVs come with a built in 'Freeview HD' tuner which uses the UHF aerial to get Freeview.
The issue with the Strong Box is that the LNB which is the little thing at the front of the dish (where the cable goes in) probably needs replacing as overtime old LNB can die due to weather or age. This is easy and cheap to replace and you can find out more information here
Double check to see if the SKY man came round the house and disconnected the cable from the dish,
Another option is to ditch the dish and get Freeview HD or FreeviewPlus (Which gives you HD channels and more channels to choose from) all you need to do is split the signals from the UHF aerial and get it spread to all rooms of the house where you want to watch Freeview or in some cases a RF wall port may be available to connect a cable to a new Freeview box
Thanks Josh,
I don't think this house HAS a UHF Aerial? There is certainly only the one cord coming through the wall anyway, whereas the last house had both
When someone has sky, are they required to come and disconnect the service when it ends? I have a feeling that Sky may still be running to the property as apparently the last tenants did a runner and a bill from sky for them arrived in the mail on Tuesday. Would this make a difference?
Thanks for your help
Bec
Very unlikely that sky would disable the dish , but an elderly neighbour of mine had his dish removed as he refused to pay bill.
