Mike,

I am guessing that your Sharp TV has a digital UHF tuner??? (Connected to a TV aerial)

If this is the case you should not have to do anything as Prime is not changing its frequencies/transponders for UHF terrestrial broadcasting. This change only affects satellite broadcasting.

But if you are connected to a satellite dish via a set top box then try doing a blind scan on that unit.

Anyways, if you still have problems, post back with model details of your equipment.

Sorry I am flying blind as this is my Father's TV I am trying to sort. He advises there is no set top box, just the TV via a satellite dish?

Mike,

If you could find out the model number of the Sharp TV, you could Google up a copy of its manual.

There will be a way to initiate a 'Blind Scan' that will make the TV do a scan of all available frequencies and find all the channels again, including Prime TV in its new home.

Thanks Alan. I will try and find out the model etc from my father (the dinasaur) :)

Oh yes, I am familiar with dinosaurs.

However it is 2016! Receiving TV should be easy and automagical with all the new smart electronics our world is filled with. Well, not so much! Hence these and many other Forums. :-(  (Sad face)

Haha. Thanks for your help.

The only manual I've been able to find for an Aquos indicates they don't have Sat Tuners so should be connected to a UHF antenna and not a Sat Dish. If it is indeed UHF only and he has connected it to a Sat Dish then it's amazing he's only missing one Mux (Prime). It will be receiving only what the bare coax can pick up.

P.S. Where is he located?

Hi Biggles,

I have managed to talk him through re-scanning the channels and it worked!

Cheers
