Has anyone in the Nelson region noticed an increase in pixelation, over most channels, since the big retune on the 1st May? Channel 3 seems particularly bad.

Cheers

Hi Andrew, you're the second person to have confirmed that the code-2 error has disappeared.  Been waiting for more confirmations for this before changing the status for that on Network Status.  Latest update from the manufacturer team that supports Magic TV also points to the issue having been resolved (though no transmission or service changes were made to my knowledge).  I'll check with Dish TV again tomorrow afternoon and update the status of that issue as resolved if the current trend is verified on their end too.

Re pixelation on TV2, if it's intermittent it's likely a reception issue - have a look at the troubleshooting guide for the retune - similar elimination process also applies for resolving reception issues.  Though it may also be a good idea to check with the manufacturer of your TV or receiver / recorder just to make sure the firmware updates are ...uh ... up to date.

Thanks heaps for the update & have a beaut of a week

Yes i've had a fair bit of pixelation on tv 2, and until yesterday I kept getting code 2 errors whenever i tried too record something on my Magic Tv 3700, it seems too have come right now (fingers crossed)   I see on the forum they are still working on it?

That's gravy Anthony! Thanks Speedbrake - awesome.

Thanks Speedbrake, you're right.  UHF aerial all good.  This evening I unplugged Sony TV & Panasonic tuner and removed all cables.  Replaced all, powered up and the autotune did its thing within a minute, without hanging and no channels found as before.  Weird!  Back to a great picture, no pixelation so far!

Hi Joshua

Some of your comments about Mainland TV are not true

All Freeview and Igloo set top boxes and all digital TV's are fully authorised and setup to recieve all Mainland TV's 8 TV channels and 2 radio stations in our broasdcast region. In 2011 Mainland TV signed an agreement with Freeview so we are all using the same digital standards, using the same compatable technology with agreed allocated channel numbers that are registered with the World digital body. Although the biggest in NZ, Freeview, is just one of a number of digital free to air promoters and they do not control all the specifications, own any TV stations or channels or allocate UHF TV licenses or frequencies. Our website at www.7-media.net has further details.

Best regards

Gary Watson  - Director Mainland TV

Hi Speedbrake

No, the transmitter hasn't moved but the frequencies on it have which is causing you some issues, I have a Panasonic XW380 and I have noticed it is very fussy in terms on signal and channel strength whilst my Samsung TV can cope with the signal fine, ''

In terms of Mainland TV, This is not a Freeview Allocated channel so Freeview decoders will not pick this up from what I am aware.

For the service, I suggest you invest in a signal booster which is available online and at your local retailer.

Kind Regards

Thanks Joshua. I don't think the transmitter site has moved, the tower is still there! I have also re-tuned so am mystified. We are on the limit of range for the transmitter so will just have to live with it.

Hi Tim

As you live in Stoke why did Nelson Tv and Video decide to use Mt Campbell rather than the transmitter in Nelson? Did they give you any clue as to why?

I'm in Stoke, running Samsung Smart Led TV, I support that there's an issue with the signal from Mount Campbell, I'm getting pixelation on the TV and also my Panasonic My Free view recorder, very annoying as it mucks up the sound when it happens, I just got my aerial redone via Nelson TV and Video in the last few months so no nothing is wrong with any of the equiptment, plus my grand parents and customers are complaining about it, which are also in Stoke, I hope something gets sorted soon as very annoying, would rather watch on demand at the moment,

Good news Anthony.

Have a look on a map , Kaka hill only really serves central Nelson which is surrounded by Hills . Mount Campbell is line of site to all of Stoke.

I am way out near Brightwater and use Kaka Hill. I can't see Mt Campbell from here, due to hills, but do you think it would be a better option? I would have to rotate my ariel through 90degs to vertical polarization.

Cheers

Yes you should try for Mount Campbell. Are you getting Mainland tv?

so is mainland,tv hawkes bay and 45 south more like a freeview associate as they have their own infrastructure

Hi Speedbrake, I'm not sure what happened with the auto reply of my first message with your question I wasn't logged in then,

I think someone already said the answer to why we go off Mt Campbell, perfect line of sight to where we are at Saxton's area, can't see Kaka Hill from here, plus we had an old UHF pointing there for analog prime, I was having an issue with my Panasonic My Freeview not getting the guide data properly it wasn't recording properly, which at the moment has been happening a bit, so got all aerials taken down (old analog 123 prime) and got a new made for digital one with filters, made a difference, sorry for going off topic, just another experience,

Yes I am getting Mainland ok. I bought a good ariel and have a booster along with good quality cables in the house. Don't really want to mess with things as they work well enough. Maybe one fine summer's day I will climb on the roof and try it. Cheers
