Hi everyone,

I have a Panasonic TV (TX model) and a Panasonic Freeview Box (DMR8 model).

When watching a self recorded programme, OnDemand or Netflix it comes up with a message that says it is going to do a `self check'.

The second message states it has completed the self check and will turn the unit off.

Once it has turned off, I have to turn the power back on. (The TV stays on during this self check process).

I do what the messages say, but it then does it all again and I am unable to watch any self recorded programme, OnDemand or Netflix for the rest of the evening.  I can then only watch television.

This has only just started, over the last few months. I haven't experienced this problem before then.

Does anyone know what causes this - and more importantly - how do I fix this problem?

Look forward to your suggestions. Thank you.

One thing I may suggest is check the Settings of the recorder and see if the Self Check is turned on by default; this could also be in the firmware section as units so usually check for software from the manufacturer, however it might be best to refer to the user manual to see if this can be switched off.

ALL PLATFORMS WORKING WELL, except a glitch with UHF transmission in Hawkes Bay affecting some JVC and VEON TVs.  See Network Status for more info and updates.
