Moved from MySky HDi to Freeview HD Terrestrial - now no reception in bedroom

Hi I'm hoping someone can help...

Previous setup:
On roof - both Sky dish and UHF aerial
In lounge - MySky connected to LCD TV. Rf modulator sending signal to bdrm on Ch 38.
Also a Matchmaster 2 way splitter. 4 connections in wall labelled 1 thru 4 by the installer. 1 & 2 were being used by Sky. 3&4 not sure.
In bdrm - Samsung TV with built in freeview. 1 aerial connection in wall labelled no 5 by the installer. This Tv got Sky on 1 channel from the lounge thru the modulator and all the built in freeview channels were working off the UHF aerial. It was definitely receiving Freeview terrestrial, as I checked the channel listings against what u can get on satellite vs terrestrial.

New setup
UHF aerial on roof plus Sky dish (now redundant)
Removed MySky box and sky rf modulator from lounge. Also removed splitter which I think maybe the problem.
In lounge: Samsung Smart TV - set up yesterday and all working fine - getting signal from aerial connection 4 in wall thru Dish Tv
New Dish TV aerial box ultra T1050pvr set up and working thru aerial connection 4.
Have also tried all the other aerial connections 1 thru 3 but there is no freeview signal out of any of them.

In bdrm - Samsung TV with built in freeview now has no channels. I have autoscanned many times to no avail and on checking the signal strength there is no signal.

How was the bdrm tv getting freeview before the change? I have wrongly assumed that it was coming straight from the aerial but obviously not. I have played around with the splitter today seeing if I could get a signal thru to the bdrm but have had no luck.

If anyone can help me it would be very much appreciated.

It sounds like by removing the splitter you have disconnected the UHF Freeview feed to the other room. You need to check all the antenna feeds to make sure of continuity to all rooms.

Start by identifying where the lead from the Sky modulator went and how that got to the other room. Then make sure the UHF antenna goes thru the same sockets. Without looking at the actual setup it's difficult to say what to do. Pictures may help but you are maybe going to need a pro installer to sort it out.

Thanks for that Biggles. I'm not sure where the lead from the sky modulator went - but I guess it could be worked out through a process of elimination. If I attach a coaxial cable from the aerial socket that I am currently getting the freeview signal from and attach the other end to the in socket of the splitter - then attach another cable to the out socket of the splitter and the other end of that cable to the dish TV ant in. Then another cable to the second out socket of the splitter - then where would the other end of the second cable go?
If I am completely barking up the wrong tree I might leave it to an installer.

just find where the freeview signal is coming FROM and jumper to where you think leads to the bedroom, soon find out ,then slot in your splitter ant in, out 1 bedroom, out 2 lounge

Thanks willis
You said "then slot in your splitter ant in" - does this mean from the wall socket to the "in" of the splitter? The wall socket that I know the freeview is coming from?
Sorry it's all a bit beyond me!

as aerial signal coming from socket 4 follow the diagram and make sure the main tv is still working

then try the other 3 1 by 1 until the bedroom tv starts

Tried that Willis - see attached photo. Have lounge tv working but none of the other three sockets seem to connect to the bedroom tv. Have tried them all in turn. Photo shows last socket tried.
. Bottom right hand socket is sending signal to tv. Then to the out on the rhs of splitter. Thanks for all your help though, very much appreciated.

OK. Looking at your photo. If the bottom right socket on the wall plate goes to the TV and the TV is working then that must be the UHF antenna connection. Disconnect that from the TV and connect it to the input on the splitter and one output on the splitter to the TV. Check that works. If all OK shift that cable to the DishTV RF input and connect DishTV RF output to TV. Check they both work. If they work then connect other output on splitter to each of the wall sockets in turn til the TV in the other room works. Hopefully that will work. At the moment it appears the UHF is connected to the TV and nothing else which is the problem.

This is how it's set up at the moment - see drawing.
I think this is what you have described Biggles, but unfortunately I can't get a signal on the bedroom tv on any of the three remaining sockets.

OK. Your diagram is good. If that didn't work then next thing to try -  bring bedroom TV to lounge and connect to antenna lead. Tune up and get working. Take back to bedroom and jumper the antenna lead in lounge directly to each of the sockets in turn. If that don't work then the cabling is a problem and I can't figure how you got Sky and Freeview in the bedroom originally. I'm out of ideas.

You guys are fantastic !!!
I did what you suggested Biggles and brought the bedroom tv to the lounge and tuned it.
Took it back to the bedroom and the first socket I tried in the lounge worked - yahoo!!
Thanks also for the diagram willis - it really helped a lot in working out what cable went where.
Thanks once again - you guys are great.

Good to hear. Pictures and diagrams are always a great help.

seems like rescanning wiped the bedroom tv s memory, thought it would remember its last info until replaced
