we have a Homecast HT9200DTR purchased May 2011

Several times over the last 2-3 months we have seen the messages 'hard drive has some problems' and 'please check your hard drive' appear on our screen when we are recording something (and watching something else)

When we try to play a recorded program we often get an erratic playback ie picture and voice stop and start.

One time we had 'cannot record' and the planned program did not record.

There is about 75-80% of our hard drive space free.

What is causing this?

how do we 'check our hard drive'?

Is your Firmware up to date?

You could try Formatting the HDD but you will lose all recordings.

You could also try Factory Reset.

If none of that works you probably need to replace the HDD.

how do I update the firmware?

Read the manual!

Download FW from their website and install from USB.

Hi Lesley

You will find the instructions here: http://www.dtvs.co.nz/forum/index.php?topic=225.0

DTVS supplies the Homecast products, if there are any issues with installation contact DTVS Solutions on their website www.dtvs.co.nz

Let me know if this helps :-)

Have a great weekend!
Cheers, Joshua
