Yay I still  have all my marbles! I managed to upload the firmware and it's all working and there's no delay with On Demand anymore.

Thanks to all concerned although I'm still annoyed it wasn't done automatically.

I've now downloaded the manual instructions so going to give the update a go, wish me luck! Or shouldn't I follow the instructions form the manual because this is what they say on their website:-

Please follow the Instructions provided with this Installer, not the Instructions in your User Manual.

So do they mean not to use the original user manual that came with the T2100 or their manual that you download from their website which is listed next to the software download?

Geez it's all so confusing for this 80 year old brain!

Why haven't they?

I've downloaded that file DishTV_T2100-Firmware-V1.42.usb and on their website they say the instructions on how to install it will appear on my computer screen but nothing happens so what do I do now?

There doesn't appear to be any instructions within the file and although their website says 'RUN' it after downloading there is no option to run it only OPEN it which is impossible because it's not a text file!

What am I missing? And why the heck do *I* have to go to all this extra trouble to fix it???

Hi Dawn

DISH TV has not yet made this available.

Hi Dawn,

I finally cleared a USB stick and have also downloaded the file, and I too was taken aback about the running of an .exe file as this isn't ever going to happen on a Mac. After a closer re-read - you only do this if you have downloaded the .exe file, not the .usb  I'm going to have a go with trying to update the T2100 from the USB stick later on this afternoon. The default password for the T2100 is 0000  or so I believe.

Hi Julie

After  you've downloaded the file to your USB just plug it into the back of your T2100 and turn on the TV and T2100 and click on Menu then Admin then Upgrade with USB and it will happen after a few seconds.

Yes the password is 0000, good luck, if I can do it anyone can!

Hi Dawn,

I experienced the same thing when I inserted my USB stick containing the update and turned on my TV.

But I managed to fix it :

Navigate to Menu -> Admin - > USB Software Update.    When it asks for the admin code enter 0000.   It then installed for me and Freeview ondemand now works for me.

I hope this helps.

Actually, there is a USB slot on the front of the T2100 box.

Thank you Dawn and Peter for your comments - they should have these important instructions posted on the DISH TV & FreeView Network status pages - it would be extremely helpful for everyone and would save a lot of time and woe.

I already was planning to do this as I'd discovered the 'secret' a week or so ago when was searching through the menu on my T2100 but had no new USB stick nor the time to muck about with it - I was hoping that the automatic update would happen before I had to do it. Anyway, I followed the instructions on the TV screen and watched while it updated, and now I have to find some time to see if it worked. I am hoping for good things :)

This exercise has shown me just how useful and valuable this forum is for getting things sorted. Thank you everyone.

Thanks for your feedback Julie.

Have a cool week!

same. I can get the enu, but it wont load the program

Me too. I have a T2100. Can get the menu but it just won't run the programs, won't go beyond the TV logo.  It was fine until a few days ago. It won't work on wireless or direct cable. I think there's something wrong at your end.

I have the same model as you. Can only get the menu list to load, but when I select the program I want sa from channel 2. I only get the channel 2 logo.

Hi Josh,

I  turned my Aerialbox T2100 off at the wall.  I also factory reset it.

I  turned off my router then turned it on again.

None of that helped.

Programs I tried to load but was unable to were :

Proven Innocent  E1

Butterfly E1

Bogans E1

Lost and Found S4 E12

Aotearoa S2 E1

Below Deck Med S4 E10

Adrenaline S1 E13

Extraordinary Flights E1

The only programme to load  ( and the only one I have previously loaded since the start of this problem) was The Barber E1.

Have you done an update?? To do one hit menu -->> admin -->> update over network thats if you've got connected to the internet otherwise go to dishtv website and download that way

Problem is back.

Never mind, it's come right again. It must have been a temporary glitch with the server.
