Losing the TVNZ channels tells me its a dish problem, maybe alignment maybe a faulty LNB.
It really depends how long it takes, plus the rate and any equipment that needs replacing, Have you had a look on these pages to see if you can do this yourself?

That indicates that the unit is now faulty, you will need to contact Dish TV, the issue is the power inside the unit, the hard drive spins but the unit will not turn on. Contact them and let them know what's happening and they can look after you
