The transmission provider JDA has moved the Al Jazeera English service to a new multiplex frequency, 3am on WED 20 AUG.
This only took place in Whangarei, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Wanganui, Masterton & Wairarapa, Nelson, Timaru & Invercargill. No other areas have been affected.
This change may have affected viewers using a UHF aerial in those areas.
What do I need to do?
Most TVs, receivers & recorders will automatically update so you most likely don't need to do a thing.
Some TVs may take 24hrs / overnight to update if left on stand-by so do not switch it off at the wall (at least for Wednesday or Thursday night).
If you’re using a UHF aerial and have "lost" Al Jazeera English, please retune your TV, receiver or recorder after WED 20 AUG to restore Al Jazeera English.
For retune instructions, please refer to:
I can’t get it back after a retune...
If you’re having problems with restoring Al Jazeera English even after a retune, there may be some issues with your aerial or set up that’s interfering with the retune process. Please refer to:
I’m using a satellite dish, can I get Al Jazeera English?
Viewers that use a satellite dish do not have Al Jazeera English yet as the broadcaster is not yet broadcasting a free-to-air satellite service.
See Network Status page for updates.
