In recent weeks I have been disappointed to get nothing from RNZ Concert by way of Freeview 51.

Top line of display is normal but second line says either the programme name or "No event information"; and there's no sound.

Freeview 50 comes over perfectly.

Could it be something to do with the recent linking to a chromecast?

You don't say what area you are in. Here in Waikanae there is no problem at all. Are you using a satellite or UHF antennae?

I would say that the problem has nothing to do with the Chromecast. More like an issue at the freeview end of things.

Thank you for replying, James.

UHF in Feilding, 15 km north of Palmy.

Lots of other channels, including RNZ National (50) come over just fine. RNZ Concert used to come over just fine - for years at Plimmerton and several months here, until a few weeks ago.

I tried to contact Freeview but the forum seemed to be the only way. Waited several days before my membership was approved. Is there a direct way to talk to Freeview?

I am afraid that over the years I have never found a satisfactory way to report these problems. Freeview seems to be just an idea, Kordia is responsible for transmitters, and the broadcasters the programmes. And each one just blames the other.

You can check the status of Freeview here https://freeviewforum.co.nz/page/network-status

There some links that might help. But don't hold your breath.

I would contact RNZ directly using this web page as a guide. https://www.rnz.co.nz/about/contact

In the meantime try Chromecasting the live stream from here https://www.rnz.co.nz/audio/live/concert

Best of luck.

James

You're a star, James!

I had tried RNZ first. Friendly response came back:

Dear Robin
Freeview is a third party to whom we provide program. For technical advice concerning Freeview matters, here is a link to their website.  https://www.freeviewnz.tv/
Watch TV with No Aerial. Stream Freeview channels with the SmartVU X - a compact streaming device that brings Freeview together with access to Netflix, Sky Sport Now, YouTube and loads more on Google Play.

You see I told you everyone blames someone else.

Just found an 0800 number for Freeview. Don't know if that would be of any help to you?

0800373384

Face the same problem, finally fix by making call to hotline. I`m not sure but it seems like a technical defect..

Hi Guys

Robyn, I have directly contacted the team have a look at this for you. I have passed on your email which you supplied to the forum.

Josh
