Hi Kevin,
What you've been advised is correct.
It's to do with the caching of EPG data - Code-2 means the device needs some time to populate its local database with EPG data before it can process booking requests from the user (you) - it's similar to caching of website content on your PC, sometimes you can't see newly added content until you do a hard-refresh or a browser-reload.
So with Code-2, patience is the answer - let the device update its local DB, then try booking again.
If this happens repeatedly and waiting does nothing to resolve the issue, then next step is to contact the manufacturer.
So thats what code-2 means, I'm still having this problem with my Magic Tv 3700 recorder, I've just spoken with my installer who said nationally there's a problem with Magic Tv Recorders. I'm rather tempted too biff the Magic Tv box but I'll probably wait a bit longer
