Hello,

Not sure if this is supposed to be here or under Prime tuning - probably both. My problem is this: I purchased an UltraPlus 720HDMI PVR satellite receiver in April last year and everything worked fine. Since Prime changed we have had a problem with the audio being out of sync by up to several seconds delayed. Added to that, the audio keeps making strange noises – blips and gurgles etc which are often quite loud – a lot louder than the normal sound level. This only happens on Prime - all the other FTA channels are fine. It also happens when we record Prime. Up till now I have sort of got around it by going to another channel in the ad breaks (I only watch one Prime show a week) but that is only a temporary fix, for within a few minutes the out of sync problem comes back as do the funny noises. Then I thought maybe we had done something wrong in the changeover so I went back to the freeview box factory settings and then followed the procedure I had got from somewhere to install the Prime TP. (I know you are supposed to be able to download an update onto a USB stick but so far how to do that has eluded me). On the service (channel) search it came up with Prime TV on channels 10, 106, and 107. There was nothing on ch 10 but there was on the other two, (they still had the out of sync and noises problems) so I deleted ch 10 and 107 and moved ch 106 to the ch 10 position. Same thing: get audio and video but within a minute or less the sound is out of sync and the funny noises are back. Because the symptoms are so recognisable I thought I would find others on the net who were experiencing the same thing but I have found ziltch. To make things worse the freeview box came from an outfit that calls itself Webretail Limited and has only a postal address in Auckland. I didn't think I would get any joy from them.

I do hope someone here knows what might be happening to Prime and has the time to post because I will certainly appreciate it. cheers,  James.

They are the importer for Ultraplus units. There may be a firmware update available

Probably the data for the Prime tv broadcasts has changed slightly. What I would do is delete all the Prime feeds that are listed in your channels list. Then Rescan the 12706 H transponder for FTA services.

It should load 3 versions.

Choose one then delete the other 2

its usually the PCR setting that upsets video and audio

Thanks for the reply. Although I wasn't quite sure how to scan or Rescan the 12706 H transponder I did carry out something that looked like I might be doing what you suggested. It appears to have given a temporary fix in that there is no out of sync audio and no weird noises for a while - 20 minutes perhaps. So really the problem is still there.

When I went into Installation and Dish Settings I found that I could only get 12707 rather than 12706. It seems to have preset numbers. I take it to rescan the Prime TP I need to add a TP it after I have deleted the existing versions and then do a service search. Is that right?

I'm sorry but I don't know what 'PCR setting' means.

scanning it on 12707 H is fine just a minor variation in the received t.p

delete the copys of Prime 1st, then rescan

this should resave the channels with the current data. E.g the pid data and pcr as transmitted.

Which firmware is your receiver using? version number..

The device has the firmware it started with: Data version v1.3; Driver version API 2.0.47. Am I looking in the right place?

I did find a site the other night that reckoned it had an update for my model but I couldn't get it to load onto a memory stick.

cheers,  James

Looks like this is what you need to fix The Prime issue , it even states it specifically

You're right, it does appear to be doing the trick. Thanks for your help. The help pdf that comes with the upgrade was not quite correct. It wanted me to load each of the two files separately into the freeview box but in the event I didn't need to do that. Loading on one was enough for it to somehow pick out the other file it needed from the 50 or so I had on the USB stick.

cheers,  James

I advise , if doing a firmware update clean the stick of all files first.

A quick fast format usually does the trick

never mind you got there in the end.
