Hi

Is anyone else suffering intermittant pixelation in Timaru?

This has increased in the last few weeks, yet I have line of sight to the cave hill transmitter and in fact in aligning the antenna I can see the transmitter tower on a good day.

I also have 10/10 on both signal quality and 8/10 on signal strength on my Panasonic TV.

I have no signal boosters or amplifiers.

We have pixelation on our screen. It is now the 7th July and it not fixed yet. Why are porblems like this so slow to be attended to?  It shouldnt take this long in this day and age. I want satellite but my husband is hooked on HD. Its frustrating..

Forgot to add that we live in TIMARU.

this problem isn't fixed, Pixelation started again sunday night.  why are there ongoing problems with transmitters that JDA are responsible for?

I have just rang JDA to talk the the Engineer I had on the phone last week but she is away. I talked to Paul at JDA instead.  I told him it was doing the freezing really bad right now on TVNZ as well as TV3 channels.  He will go and check the transmitter now while it is doing it.

I also took at 30 second video of TV2 and have e-mailed it to him so JDA can see exactly what terrible TV viewing we have.

Thanks for the information DBrown

Contacting JDA directly will enable them to assess the issue at the transmission site and thanks for supplying them a sample of the TV2 transmission.

Know anybody with igloo? Wonder if that is behaving itself

Update from JDA just now:

We have switched to off air receive from Sugarloaf and are linking the data via microwave.

Al Jazera and TVSN are however off the Auckland data.   This means that these two programs are still subject to the earlier impairments.

We are trying to  find a permanent technical fix for the problem.

See how it works tomorrow morning :)

Hi Allister,

Yep I have the same problem but worse with my UHF signal. It drops right out every 10-20 seconds and I also have line of sight to cave hill. My signal quality has dropped to 55%.
