Hi,

We live in New Plymouth and for the past two weeks or so (Maybe even longer) at 5:30pm our reception goes crazy for the rest of the entire evening on all channels.

This started after the 1 May retune messages.

I have retuned the entire TV, but made no difference.

We run the standard UHF aerial (left over from SKY) and this is plugged directly into our LG Freeview TV aerial input. During the day we never have problems but from late afternoon TV is NOT worth watching, needless to say we now watch a lot of movies on a Hard Drive.

The reception pixelates, sound gets distorted and stutter, then it goes black screen for a second or two, then back on then the whole screen pixelates and this is very annoying.

I have taken down the aerial and sanded this back to shiny new and given it a spray with WD40, Bought a New connector, the connections are in fantastic condition, but alas no joy.

Can anyone help or advise?

And is there anyone else having these similar problems.

At whit's end,

Craig C

that sounds familiar, wonder if the following was ever resolved?

wow, very coincidental ? I think not, Our neighbours have the same issue and I know of others in town also. I just wish they would fix it as they pushed us into it.( the digital change over that is)

I work in the bay of plenty in a fringe area where you can easily pick up signals from multiple transmitters. This creates a lot of noise. This seems worse in more places now that were previously unaffected and coincides with the final re stacking process of Auckland infill towers which will be now using same frequencies as mt te aroha. You might find something else similar happened down your way. We previously had people having to migrate from perfect freeviewHD to satellite when same brain surgeon thought it perfectly sensible to broadcast same muxes and polarity on Rotorua transmitter, which created huge interference to viewers looking virtually same direction at the Tauranga broadcast. For some of those we turned their aerials round to te aroha. Now because they are elevated they get interference from Auckland now.
