This was supplied by a professional installer some years ago. I have been able to select Group 3 frequency of 12519khz but cannot get prime. Edge and .plus 4 work OK. This has up until today automatically updated to all channels. Anybody able to help?

What is the model number of the Kaon ?

Paul, my model is a Kaon KSF-270.
and I cannot afford to pay for anyone to come out and do their thing to make new channels work. and instructions would be HUGELY appreciated!

These instruction took some tracking down and needed altering  let me know it they work please.

Please use the following instructions to tune PRIME quickly. Note PRIME will not come on channel 10. It will be on Channel 1000 or above.


1.   Press the menu button
2.   Select Installation
3.   Enter PIN if requested. Default PIN is 0000
4.   From the Satellite list highlight OptusD1 satellite.
5.   Press the GREEN button for Transponder list
6.   Press the RED button to open Scan window. (make sure none of the transponders have a tick or you will not get the correct scan window)
7.   Enter the following values:
a.   Frequency: 12519
b.   Symbol rate: 22500
c.   Polarity: H
d.   FEC: Auto
e.   Network: Off
f.   Video PID: 01013
g.   Audio PID: 01113
h.   PCRPID: 08183
8.   Press OK to Scan
9.   Once complete, please Exit and Save.

FOUR PLUS 1

Please use the following instructions to tune PRIME quickly. Note FOUR PLUS 1 will not come on channel 10. It will be on Channel 1000 or above.


1.   Press the menu button
2.   Select Installation
3.   Enter PIN if requested. Default PIN is 0000
4.   From the Satellite list highlight OptusD1 satellite.

I also have a Kaon receiver -- and following these instructions I was able to retune Prime -- so many thanks . -- I am so not very tech savvy!!!

Now I am wondering if I am able to get the new channels, Duke, HGTV and Bravo.

Any help out there?

To Tune in Duke

Try the below , please let us know if this works :)

You can use the following method to re-scan channels on the KSF-270 if you have lost some channels:

1. Press Menu
2. Select Installation press OK
3. Enter PIN if requested. Default PIN is 0000
4. Move to "Optus D1" satellite and ensure "Optus D1" is highlighted in blue.
5. Press the Green button on the remote control to list the transponders.
6. Move to transponder labelled, "12483 22500 .." and ensure it is highlighted in blue.
7. Press the OK button to select the transponder. When selected, a "tick" will appear next to it.
8. Press the Red button on the remote control to show the scan popup menu.
9. Change "Network" to "on". Use the left and right arrow buttons to change the settings.
10. Press the OK button to scan. Allow the scan to finish.
11. Once the scan is finished, the number of new TV and Radio channels found will be shown.
12. Press OK to exit
13. Press OK to Save the channels found
14. Press Exit to exit the Menu
15. Check if you have all the channels.

To Tune In Bravo

Try the below , please let us know if this works :)

Thank you very much for your instructions, they were so clear and easy to follow.

By following what you said to get Duke; as well as that station I also got Bravo, Shopping, Hope and Bravo plus 1 --; so now all good.
