Cannot record any other channels if recording on Prime. Occurred after retuning for the new Prime frequency

Hi - I have an Ultraplus F-9000HD PVR Sat Receiver.  I retuned it a couple of weeks ago to pick up on the Prime TV move.  Then noticed this problem.

1. If watching Prime - cannot record any other channel (except edge, Four Plus 1).

2. If recording Prime - all other channels cannot be viewed (except edge, Four Plus 1)

This didn't happen prior to retuning the box a couple of weeks ago - we could watch or record on prime and also watch or record a second channel (e.g. TV1,2,3).

The F9000HD is a dual tuner box with a crossover loop cable fitted

Here's what I did to retune the box for prime (Is there something about going through this process that could be causing the  problem we are experiencing?)

Menu > Service Search:  this discovered all the channels - (dozens of them)

Menu > System Tools > Service List Manager:  Used the controls in here to remove all the unavailable channels, all sky ones and remove duplicated TV1,2,3,4, cue, prime,  etc ones.

Also sorted the channel listing from here.

Any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome.

Regards

This would be normal if you only have a single tuner .

The only thing I can think of that would cause this on a twin tuner is that the new frequency's that you have tuned in for Prime etc are Vertical polarity ( V ) instead of Horizontal polarity ( H )

You cant record/view both V & H  at the same time unless you have 2 LNBs.

The correct settings for Prime/ Four Plus 1 / the Edge are..

Frequency 12519  Symbol rate 22500 Polarity ( H )

Instructions from Robert Hepple

Click on this link, download this file to a USB stick and put it into the USB socket on the front of the 900 , it will update the channel list (press the red button when asked to)

Has the new channel plan for the Ultraplus 900

You've nailed it!  Thank you very much Paul.  It was the 'V' setting.  Prime, Four Plus 1 and the Edge were all set to Vertical.  With that corrected back to 'H' - we're back to multi channel recording.  Regards Peter

Check that the satellite has T1/T2 beside it to show that the satellite its set to use Both Tuners on Loopthru

I would delete ALL existing channels, then make sure its set to Optus D1 and the satellite is set as loopthru, then rescan 12456 H 12483 H and 12519 H manually , FTA only search mode, NIT OFF

I've seen screwups when the stored channels were scanned in "loopthru" mode then later for some reason the Tuner setting has been set to Tuner 1 or Tuner 2.

It can also happen if you added the freq and scanned in, but chose the wrong satellite, as the default for the other satellite isn't "loopthru"

Thats my observation with the issue on a model 9200 previously..

Looks like my post was 30 seconds late

Never mind you got it sorted,.
