LG unable to play TV on Demand

I've got a 2016 LG 'Smart' TV. It doesn't play TV on Demand

I can't use Google Chromecast to get it as you can no longer download the App on a desktop but only on a mobile device. I don't want to have to buy a mobile device simply to be able to download the App so as to be able to watch TV on Demand.

It appears that if you have a 2017 LG TV you can watch via the Freeview App on the TV.

I now have an obsolete TV.

Any ideas?

Probably coming into this topic much too late in the day. I notice that there have been 118 views so why didn't anyone suggest recruiting the help of a friend with a mobile phone. You would only need them to do the initial setup (and maybe again if you have to do a reset}?
