VHF AERIALS
VHF aerials are designed for reception of analogue TV signals, which are of a lower frequency range compared to that for digital TV.
Even though some viewers VHF aerials may get lucky and pick up digital TV via their VHF aerial (or even a piece of stray wire if they're in the sweet spot), when conditions change - be it broadcast, transmission or weather condition changes - reception for some or all channels will be affected, or even lost, for those viewers.
Some VHF/UHF COMBINED ANTENNA can also cause reception issues as the VHF portion may interfere with digital TV reception via the UHF portion of the antenna; or the combiner can fail.
For reliable reception, it's best to correctly install a rooftop UHF aerial, which is designed for digital TV.
