So, I recently bought the SmartVU SV11 specifically so the wife could watch Freeview local channels.

Why doesn't the dongle retain my login details? Is there something wrong that I am doing? It is very annoying to have to enter my password everytime I launch the app.

Have you registered and confirmed your account via email?
Try a reboot, disconnect from power and try again to see if this fixes those issues.
