New Freeview On Demand is now available as a Smart TV app on LGs and Samsungs

New Freeview On Demand is now available as a Smart TV app on LG TVs released since 2017 and Samsung TVs released since 2016 (the Smart TV app became available on Samsung from November 29).

The new Smart TV app is a complete refresh of the existing app and aggregates on demand content from TVNZ OnDemand, ThreeNow, and Māori TV into a single catalogue.  The Freeview On Demand app on your TV will need to be updated to this new version, it’ll either update automatically or you’ll be prompted to update it when you next access Freeview On Demand.

The old platform (FreeviewPlus / old Freeview On Demand) will be completely switched off on Monday 17 December.

If the Freeview On Demand app hasn’t updated on your Smart TV before then, it’ll appear to stop working but there’s no need to panic, all you need to do is install the new Freeview On Demand Smart TV app.
