I've tried to record Rush TV on our Panasonic DVD recorder in the same way as other channels. However, unlike other free-to-air channels the recordings do not seem to work. Sometimes only a few minutes shows up as recorded and then playback produces a static and torn picture.

Has anybody any idea what is going on and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Did anyone else lose the TVNZ channels on their ZMX7500 (or DSE7500) while the Games Channels were on?

If so I may have a solution without having to do a Factory Default (which will remove Bravo+1, Prime, The Edge and Prime+1).

On my STB, Prime suddenly appeared on P001 instead of TV1 and many or the other channels were on the wrong LCN. (All the channels on the 12483 transponder were no longer available to view but the internal TP list and PID lists were still ok)

This is how I restored it:

Go to Channel 600 (which comes up labelled as 'CH-12'). TV1 should appear on this channel (600). Wait a few seconds to let the banner disappear

Now go back to P001 and hopefully the rest of your TVNZ channels and others will be back in the right places

After the above steps, on my workshop ZMX7500, ThreeLife is on 11, The Edge is now on 16, Prime+1 on 18. I suspect this may change when the Games Ch 14 goes. (The Edge and Prime+1 can be swapped by editing the PID table and renaming but that is beyond the scope of this message)

I would be interested to hear if anyone else experienced a similar issue with their ZMX7500 or DSE7500 and if the above resolved it

I have a new 40 inch Panasonic smart tv with built in everything. I set it up myself and love it. I have just bought a FreeviewPlus recorder (aerial Box T2200) and I just cannot get it to work. UHF aerial is connected to box, AV leads to tv, box power on: tv says 'no service'. Box instructions say 'select the video input you have connected your T2200 into.' How do I do that? Grrrr. What incredibly basic thing have I missed?? Help!

Before we shut down, we had over 4% of the population watching us daily. Our monthly viewing was over 1.1 million which exceeded any other sports channel in New Zealand. And now we want to bring Sommet Sports back, with our crowd.

What do we need?

We're looking to crowdfund $300,000 to get back up and running, and ensure that we have a sustainable model for the future. This includes setting ourselves back up on the Internet, hiring part of our team back, and working on the partnerships we have in train. If we raise $500,000 we'll go on Freeview HD, and at $1.2 million we'll be available on every TV.

What next?

If we can raise $300,000 that will greenlight our plans to bring Sommet Sports back online. Once we hit our goal, it will take four weeks to get everything back up and running with our suppliers (that are on standby - and hopefully pledging!).

Who are we?

We're a group of passionate sports lovers, who think everyone from kids to pensioners should have access to free sports TV. We set up a channel that we would want to watch.

Understanding the passion New Zealanders have for their sports Andrew entered the broadcasting arena, developing New Zealand’s first free-to-air sports channel – Sommet Sports T V. Andrew leveraged the Sommet brand with over 50,000.00 homes watching Sommet Sports on their Sommet LCD TV or set top box.

Andrew is a sports nut following nearly all sport. The teams that he follows are: West Ham(EPL), Freiburg (Bundesliga), Adelaide Crows (AFL), Queensland Reds (Super 15) , Brisbane Broncos (NRL) and Cincinnati bengals (NFL).

Why should you help?

You're already telling us how much Sommet Sports meant to you in the short time it was around. Instead of us telling you why you should help, here are some reasons why people have already pledged to support us:

"I'm retired and live on just the pension payment but the range of sports you've brought to us while you were able were exactly my choices. Particularly MotoGP which was outstanding coverage. I'd already set aside $100 as a pledge to get you going from when you mentioned the possibility last year - I wouldn't mind getting nothing in return - but if you're offering a T-Shirt then why not. I've forwarded this email on to my circle of friends so hope you are able to get up and going again. Fingers crossed it's before MotoGP starts again..."

The 'no signal' rectangle appears on our TV more and more often. We have had the Zinwell 7500 box that cost more than the TV for nearly 3 years, with very slight use. It had to replace our first box that started not working after less than 1 year's use.

Weather conditions do not cause it. Aerial configuration etc has been checked. There appears no rhyme or reason. It gets worse and worse becoming virtually unusable due to the frequency of 'no signal '.

The graph at screen bottom shows 100% receptivity for each channel (newly tuned, took an hour for technician to get Prime we had not been able to get since digital start Oct 2013).

Yet is it the box? We know well a new TV with inbuilt Freeview that is just as bad, though that one also has receptivity issues.

Another problem growing in frequency with our set/Freeview box is total picture loss in the middle of transmission. It is rectified when video button pushed again.

Scanning the Net for solutions/pointers I see one posting that makes sense where others fail to explain. It poses that the technology is at fault — was not developed fully and well before releasing.

For over a year, we have been given the run around with the company we bought it from. It no longer sell Freeview boxes....

We would like to be able to watch TV for the at most 3 hours or so per week we choose. Why is this no longer possible?

I would just like to thank Dish TV NZ. I have been using a UHF T1020 for approx 18 months when it stopped working. I sent the unit back to Dish TV to see if it was worth repairing. About three days later my T1020 was returned to me with a invoice for testing and replacement of a power supply component. The invoice had NO CHARGE.

Thanks Dish TV great support.

I have a Sony TV (2011)and have brought a Veon FreeView box (satellite) and HDI cable and have attached everything. When I go through setup mode neither of the aerials seem to work when plugged in and the screen says that tuning failed and database is empty. This is getting really frustrating and I am not really sure what to do next. Is there any way to tell is it is a terrestrial or satellite setup except for plugging it in? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
Masterton Area Freeview Reception Losstag:freeviewforum.co.nz,2014-05-23:6513406:BlogPost:385742014-05-23T09:51:19.000ZKeith Salterhttps://freeviewforum.co.nz/profile/KeithSalter

A mains power outage at the Freeview transmitter site serving the Masterton area has caused loss of all DTT services. Technicians are responding, but weather conditions may cause delays to site access and ongoing investigations.
