SOMMET SPORTS PRESS RELEASE:

New free-to-air sport broadcaster, Sommet Sports, has confirmed its channel will launch in New Zealand on Thursday next week.

Available through Freeview on Channel 14, sports fans will also be able to access streamed content via the Internet.

"Although many never believed they would see free sports on their televisions again, we can finally offer live and free of charge to Kiwi homes such prestigious events as the MotoGP, the complete AFL 2013 season, Germany's premier Bundesliga Football, the LPGA tour, Extreme Sports, Surfing, Abseiling, BMX , and so much more." said Andrew Reeves, director of Sommet Sports.

"This has been a dream of ours for more than three years, and our passion for sports has had us work hard to build the type of sports channel we that we would take great pleasure in watching ourselves.

"We are so pleased to be offering free sports for Kiwis and are committed to acquiring sports programmes and content that Kiwis want to watch." Reeves said more announcement on content are expected soon.

"More big announcements that will make sporting fans up and down the country happy will be released in the next few weeks," he said.
