Could Warm / Hot Weather affect my Satellite Signal?

Generally, No.

However, the equipment you use can be affected by warmer temperatures.
If you encounter any issues of reception such as pixelation or have a loss of signal then that may indicate that the LNB or surrounding cabling could be on it's way out due to ageing.

The LNB, which is a little device in front of your satellite dish is used to push signals from space to your decoder / TV. While most LNB's sold in NZ from trusted sellers are certified for NZ conditions, eventually the device will age and will cause some issues when direct sunlight hits the dish as high temperatures can affect the signal received.

A good way to test if the LNB is aged is by turning on your hose and water the LNB (It is waterproof) to see if signals return, if this is the case then you will need to get the LNB replaced.

As always, consult your local installer for the best option if you have any reception issues over the summer period.
