I'm a fan of RT's mix of news, interviews and documentaries. I find it more watchable than Al Jazeera.

I believe the RT International broadcast is FREE to providers, so I wonder why it isn't on Freeview.

Are there any plans to include RT in the broadcast channels?

Because they have to pay for the pleasure of joining

Thanks. I'd appreciate it if you could cite a credible source of information.

Jeremy RT is on optus d2 and intelsat 19 free to view

It's streaming live online anyway so anyone with PC, Laptop, Smartphone etc can watch online.

RT has gone from D2, on intel 19. 12288 H,30000 along with france 24 english, euronews and cnn turkey

I want to know why it isn't on Freeview! Could it be a political decision? I don't think it would be about cost. Or maybe the folks at Freeview never thought of it. It seems a no-brainer to have it among the channels available. Some of which are rather "niche", whereas RT has wide appeal. At the moment, for example, it has great coverage of the World Cup.
I would watch it online but my connection speed isn't good enough while I'm waiting for fibre. In any case, I would like to be able to watch RT on Freeview wherever it is available, for example, at a hotel.
I'm hoping someone from Freeview might read this thread and be prompted to reconsider not having RT, or provide an explanation why it is not offered.

Probably not offered due to lack of a market for it. To be honest I'd never heard of it til I saw your post. There's also limited bandwidth available though they could easily dump all the +1 channels which are all SD and AAC2 sound. Replacing some of them with HD Channels and DD5.1 sound would be nice.

Biggles if you had watched Triangle/Stratos television when it was on the Freeview systems you would have seen it ,  and now the only way to view it now is on sky tv also AJ also use to be aired on that channel until it came on freeview terrestia so they only way to view either is somehow get sky to unlock them , And the same goes with the BBC news which use to be good when it was on One until someone there complained about the $1million they had to pay annually

David - Thanks for that post. Maybe Sky does have exclusive rights. I will write to RT to find out what they have to say about it.

i am   try to   allign my disk to Intersat 19 166E,

But not successfull,   Fre1 12286, SR 30,000,  but   signla not liocked,    Done autotuning   no9t getting anything,    Any idea,   what is the trick to  allign this   to Intelsat 19.

What size is your Sat dish ? as you may need either a 900mm or 1200mm dish to receive the signal

I think its 900,  bigger than   normal Sky dish,

Living in Wellington,  no barriers,  good horizon,    Directing  to   Optus D1 and D2 no problem.
