Hello. I'm on Aucklands North shore.

Ive had a 'few' niggling problems with my TV & last weekend  14/15th, my landlord went onto the roof & fixed the arial.

Ive forgotten the terminology, but its either vertical or horizontal & whatever it was it was the wrong way. the landlord fixed it.

In short my signal strength jumped to a 10 (was 2 & 3's) - so its got a lot lot better.

The problem

1) now, i do get CHOICE tv very well - can watch it with no problems.

the problem is, my favourite tv shows on CHOICE all shifted to HGTV - which of course i do not get, so, i cannot watch my fave shows.

2) i do not know if im on the J1 or K1 MUX, but i do get PRIME and i do get CHOICE, however i do not get HGTV at all (i have reset my recorder).

im on a T2200 Dish TV.

does anyone have any idea why i cant get HGTV ?  i thought if you get 1, you get all of them ?

3) is the website correct ?

ive looked at the TV stations I can get & i get SOME stations on J1, but some stations on K1 too (also PANDA tv isnt on the above list.

is there a way to check which MUX you are on / can get ?

PS - this line in the website is not correct:

the hyper-link for COVERAGE - does not give you an opportunity to enter your address or location etc - its changed sinvce the MUX website page was updated

Hgtv ch 17 is on the same mux as aljazeera ch 16
Just select ch 16 then enter the tuning menu from there

From my testing,

1) i DO get THE EDGE, but i do not get the other MEDIAWORKS MUX.

2) i do NOT get Al Jazeera - But i do get prime & choice which are both on J1 and K2 MUX.

and i do NOT get HGTV which is also on K1 & K2 MUX.

Conclusion:

This website is not correct / updated.

and / or

b) Just because you get 1 channel on a MUX - does not determine that you get all channels on the same MUX.

You can enter your address if you select "Live TV" then the "I don't know box" followed by "Freeview Coverage check"

There's no J1 MUX in Auckland.

  • J1 services Whangarei, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Whanganui, Masterton, Wairarapa, Nelson, Timaru & Invercargill.
  • K1 & K2 services Auckland, Waikato, Tauranga, Napier & Hastings, Taranaki, Manawatu, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin.
