<p>Spent some time in JB HI Fi this afternoon and it seems Freeview Plus is the On Demand offerings of TVNZ, TV3 and Maori TV packaged through the Freeview channel. IF this is the case then it will not have captions and is not use to me.</p>

<p>My understanding is that Freeview Plus is just an add-on to standard Freeview so CC should be the same. However I believe the Freeview Plus can be disabled leaving you with standard old Freeview without it's associated problems. I can't confirm though as I don't have (and certainly don't want) any Freeview Plus gear. When eventually the time comes for me to update my TV or Panny Recorder I guess there won't be a choice?
