I did tweet Choice but no response so I'll try this forum. Hoping someone from ChoiceTV or whoever manages Freeview HD will see & possibly make a change

Freeview HD(Gisborne) lists Choice TV as "ChoiceTV" not "Choice TV". The problem is my 2019 LG TV(not sure about other brands) which has built in voice commands can't switch to Choice TV because it's listed as 1 word, not 2. If this small change could happen it then vision impaired people with LG TVs could use the voice command instead of trying to fumble around on the remote.

The same issues applies to ThreeLife, Threelife+1 & ThreePlus1.

Update:

Just realised the same is happening with TVNZ # +1 channels. LG voice commands also can't recognise  "+". "Bravo Plus 1" successfully switches channels.

So it's not just the lack of [Space] between words but use of "+" instead of "plus".

Hi

Thanks for your post and video. Have you tried contacting LG Services to get them to have a look into the voice services. It is up to each broadcaster to decide how their name is presented and usually this is for legal reasons.

I'll give LG Support a shot but I wont hold me breath. In the past they have been a hassle to deal with, mainly just auto-response emails or calls passed onto retailers who themselves don't know. I''ll try the Blind Foundation too, maybe they can do more then 1 individual.

There maybe contractual issues involved but if they are able to normalise there names using plain english = problem solved. "Bravo Plus 1" channel name & watermark are the same, where as "ThreePlus1" has a "Three+1" logo, so maybe there is room to move.

I'm just hoping someone can get the message through to Freeview/Broadcasters. A simple spelling change could make a world of difference for vision impaired people. At the moment "ChoiceTV" & any channel using the [+] symbol are inaccessible for users who can't see the remote properly.

I realised very early on in my Freeview days that it's best to ask for the channel by number rather than by name when using the voice option.   i.e.  ask for Channel 10 instead of Prime, or Channel 12 for Choice.  and Channel 6 instead of TV1+1, etc,etc
