Try a Factory Reset, this will wipe any settings from the old owner as it looks like he used a slightly different setup than you do, so a factory reset will correct this issue and will scan for channels.

Let me know if you any further help or assistance.

Please check model number before proceeding the below is for the S7070 not the S7070r

Rescan on Dish TV S7070

The following instructions are supplied by the manufacturer and extracted from the Dish TV website.

With some channels being transmitted from a Sky transponder, the device may need a factory reset to locate the transmission.

The steps to do this are as follows:

  1. Press the menu button on the remote to bring up the main menu.
  2. Select Installation and Press Ok
  3. Select Factory Default and Press Ok
  4. Enter the pin code for the receiver (The default is 0000)
  5. Select Yes and press OK

After the factory reset process has completed you will be prompted to select your region and press OK.

Once the scan process has completed you should have access to all channels again.

If after the factory reset process you have no channels loaded you may need to manually set the LNB frequency

In some cases this process will not correctly add the channel you're scanning for.

In this case you will need to manually enter the transponder details for that channel.

The steps to do this are as follows:

  1. Press the Menu button to bring up the main menu
  2. Select Installation and press OK

  6. Select Symbol rate and enter 22500
  7. Check that Polarity is set to Horizontal
  8. Check that network search is set to Off
  9. Press OK to start the Scan process

The scan process will take approximately 1 minute to complete.
