For the last 2 weeks I haven't been able to watch any sort of tv because my freeview box was displaying "no signal" and now displays "empty"  It doesn't matter what I do nothing resolves this issue.  I have done all the trouble shooting steps that I've found on here and other sites, I've factory reset the box as well as reset the box and just removed the power plug for 2 mins and still no luck. 

This all started from 1 day of rain where the channels were cutting in and out?  Is there any generic settings that will just save and work? 

When I do add new settings into the transponder area I am not able to select it to search for it, every other satellite shows up except for the 1's appropriate for the Optus D1.

I am also located in Kaikohe Far North

Transonic users have reported this to us recently and it could be a variety of factors:

  1. The LNB: Your LNB (Which is the little machine on the front of the Satellite Dish) might be too old and has died, This can easily be replaced for a cheap price. You can find "LNB's" on TradeMe or at your local installer/aerial specialist.

    In terms of your question with generic settings that saves the clear pictures: The way TV used to work via VHF aerials is that you can scan and tune in clear pictures manually, with Satellite you need to have a suitable signal strength to maintain the reception.

    Try getting the LNB replaced, and run a scan again.
  2. The Transonic Receivers are no longer manufactured and have been known to become obsolete die to a range of circumstances, it might be best getting a new one which you can get at a cheap price at local retailers, Veon now replace the transonic brand at The Warehouse.

I recommend trying Step One first, if you are unsure please consult a local installer, I am currently visiting Kerikeri and Satellite services are running fine.

Definitely sounds like a LNB/Dish fault. Have you tried another known good box?
