I want to ditch MySky and replace it with Freeview. The MySky recorder seemed to be very good quality and easy to use. I'm happy to spend the money to achieve similar with a freeview satellite recorder and want to know what others out there think is the best option.

The best option would be to use an Antenna & suitable box. I think you would be disappointed with the quality on Freeview satellite.

Thanks John. My neighbour has that but he has huge problems with the trees behind us blocking the signal thus the satellite option. If I did go with antenna, what recorder would you suggest?

If you are looking at future proofing and on demand apps built in with WiFi then the S8200 from Dish TV is a great choice, 1TB Harddrive, OnDemand Apps, nice User Interface and proper 1080p HD upscaling and can handle HD channels when they come through,

Thanks Joshua but I've ended going for a UltraPlus X-9200HD Digital Satellite Receiver. This should give me everything I need. I'm surprised at how few quality options there are though.
