Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else has lost channels 3,4,8,9,11 in Gisborne.

It's similar to a previous post where someone in Wanganui was getting the same grey box popup message as above Discussion Title on their Veon TV (back in May 2014).

http://freeviewforum.co.nz/forum/topics/lost-channels-tv3-tv3-1-and...

I got that link from Geekzone who said  it was an issue with the freeview transmission.

I read Bel comments back in May 2014 that it had to do with Mediaworks channels and JDA http://www.jda.co.nz/television - so I emailed both of them.

So normally I can get ALL the channels except TAB. So besides the TAB channel

5 channels disappear every time I retune the TV, as they appear & then within minutes disappear again.

This is odd considering 1,2,5,6,710,12,13,16,20,21,24,26,27,34 do not disappear.

The NETWORK STATUS says that work was done last Friday 9th Oct in Lower Hutt & Wainuiomata which could be around the time 5 Channels kept disappearing on my Veon TV.

Yep, we've lost exactly the same channels on one tv -a few days ago, yet the other tv in the house is fine. We figured the tv was on the brink so just purchased a new one but same thing, those same channels won't work. Why only media work channels?

That sux.  Do you mind saying which town your from? TV brand? &

did you get the same "network change . . " message?

Like I said looks as though its happened before in May last year & transmission provider JDA

fixed problem after they were notified.

The current fault in Gisborne effects the newer Veon & Akai TV's. (2yo and less is common) and has been faulty since Tuesday night last week (6/10/15). The only technical info I can get from the local transmitter maintenance company is that it appears to be a software issue from Freeview itself and that the JDA side of things is up to spec. I guess we keep phoning 0800 373 384.

Hi Guys, I am currently getting this looked into with the Freeview Team, Details should emerge once they have been in contact.

Regards, Joshua

I rang that 0800373384 Freeview number and talked to Ainsley and she was very helpful as she said that she will be informing her Freeview manager as this is the first time they have been made aware of the problem.  They are also aware of this topic/post.

So wait & see before you rush off and spend money on stuff you didnt need before Tuesday. unless you can't wait that long.

Hi Graeme. Tony loftus @ ess here. Iv also struck this fault on a sharp tv, GOG decoder, lots of veons, and a dse brand. The dse menu looks identical to the veon menu format. I also called colvins and got told it was likely a freeview software issue. Hopefully get sorted soon. Have lots of people waiting to get called back.

Thanks for that Tony.

Freeview needs to change it's "Network Status" to eliminate the confusion that has been created.

Hi those affected,

Looks like the problem has been resolved now here in Gisborne - SO GO TRY retune your TV from your Menu and select Auto Tuning/DTV/NZ and all your channels that you had before last Tues should all return hopefully like mine have - and that pesky grey box msg hasn't come back no more!

Lasted 7days.  Thanks to all those involved.  Hope they remember how to fix it for the next time it happens.
