I can't seem to pause and rewind with my freeview remote. I can play fastforward stop record. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Some more questions.

Is this from your original remote that came with the T1050 or a “DishTV Multi Remote” ?

(By the way if you get a “DishTV Multi Remote” it might not work until the software is updated

& it might pay to have the software upgraded before you lose or your remote goes faulty.)

The next question is does the button on the remote work?

As remotes get older, some buttons on (any) remote might not work.

To check this, one could use the camera on your cell phone to check the Infra red remote light, your eyes can not see the infra red light direct, but your cell phone camera can. Just point the remote into the camera lens and press the buttons on the remote, while watching the cell phone screen.

Does the buttons that do not work answer the question?

You might like to press the “menu” button

go to “system configuration”

then “version”

and get the date

Then check on the DishTV website, to see if there is updated software that will work on the new “DishTV Multi Remote”

You can use the two remotes side by side, but is a pain in the neck, as every time the other remote is used you will have to activate the new remote by pressing button “0”

The good news is the new remote only cost $30, time your payment right (early in the morning), you will get it the next day by courier (if you live in the big city)

Let hope even newer software will make both remotes work side by side? But then I sometime buy lotto tickets, thinking I might win.

I have the Multi Remote T1050 I just looked at the website. That is the same remote I got with the freeview box. The version I have is Feb 27 2014.  I used the camera on my cell phone to check the Infra red remote light and the buttons that didn't work showed no light and the buttons that did work I could see the light.

No it hasn't :-(

Obvious solution. Get a new remote because the one you have isn't working properly as some buttons are dead. DishTV should replace it under warranty or if warranty has expired then under the CGA.
