"In NZ we only have DVBS and DVBT . T2 (igloo) has shut down. Freeview is making noises about transmitting in DVBS2. Problem with those cheap meters is your lucky if you get one that works. I went through 3 of them. Same firmware different branding."

Exactly what standards are used by Freeview in NZ....

Hi there. :)I am looking at purchasing a suitable FSM(field strength meter/signal meter) for both DVB-S and DVB-T, but the EXACT standard used by Freevew NZ seems very hard to find, so can anyone link me to, or tell me the codec specifics please?I need to know that, to ensure that whatever FSM I decide to buy, will actually be able to look at the digital signal as transmitted here.  Will any meter that can look at DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T/T2/C work or do I need to look for something more specific?…See More

"@ nzdtv.com - Yes, that is a very valid point with respect to channel 28.  I am GUESSING(having never actually climbed the mast or anything), that the old ch.28 aerial will still be part of the antenna array. I will follow this up a bit more."

May 1st restack - 4th transponder channel in Dunedin(Mount Cargill)

Hi folks. :)I would just like to know why the TECHNICAL information(which I guess the MBIE have) is not shown anywhere on any of the freeview websites that I could find.It took my spectrum analyser and a suitable decoder, to discover that a 4th transponder channel has been added to the system - all the help/FAQ's/help-lines etc, just go over and over retuning.  While that may well work for the majority of people with roof aerials, technicians like myself need to know the technical details of…See More
