We are in a tiny flat with no access to mounting an aerial outside.
We have put our YAGI-type UHF Aerial in a corner in the sitting room and it gives us just enough reception most of the time.
Is doing this harmful in any way to human health?
Thank you if anyone can help here, John
yes.. I've had a big search for this question :(
Thanks for your question, it's a good one!
There have been no reports of aerials that cause health issues, most aerials sold in New Zealand for digital television (Freeview) have been tested. You should have no problem with health, however for a long term solution an outdoor aerial install will ensure you have continuous signal as well as that reassurance that signals are been received from outside the house rather than inside.
The issue around health and antennae is more about what's transmitted through the aerial. As you're using it to receive signal (not transmit) nothing is emitted from it.
The only health issue is if you trip over it,
Heres a tip for indoor use of a outdoor antenna you can modify an old freestanding lamp and use it as your "mast"
