It is Monday 16th Sept. no reception from about 10.10pm. Says reception problem.

Everything checked, cables all good, aerial is fine and no wind. So whats up???

Also could we have a date on when notices are given about poor reception so we know whether its an old notice or not.. thanks

Which area do you live / transmitter site received ?

Insufficient information !!

Jane is in Timaru looking at her previous post and all channels are showing as down, have just emailed JDA and they are looking into it.

Hi Joanne.  Yes I'm in Timaru and lost all channels last night about 10.20pm.  The network status on Freeview about Timaru had not been updated since the strong winds a few days ago (so yes, it was outdated & we do need a date/time on their network status').

The channels have just come back on this morning about 7.45ish. This new digital TV is really not living up to any of the hype of it being so wonderful.  I do realise that Freeview is just the platform and that its JDA who are the transmitter but I really think they all need to get their service running effectively!!  There are some very disgruntled customers out there.

We are considering changing to a satellite receiver as my friend never has reception issues. However we want the HD part for decided on the aerial.

Doesn't it brass you off that they don't have up to date info on problems especially when there is no date printed so one knows its old news..........

how can they have up to date, no one had informed JDA there was a problem, so if you have a problem google JDA and email or ring them.

We've had satellite for a few years as well as terrestrial and i think satelite has had a couple of problems, problems happen, there have been storms where with Analog  we would lose reception.

I know the Kordia sites have alarms if there is a fault ,  so any issues can be dealt with Promptly !!

so what happened? lost the link or lost power so the standby generator should start and the link is likely only from telecom timaru to cave hill

perhaps the genset ran out of diesel ??? LOL

like winter 92 when sugarloaf ran out of diesel and snow had broken the power lines

I don't think SLF actually  ran out of diesel  .  I think from memory it was a fuel contamination issue !!
