Occasionally when we record a programme on our S7090PVR It will look like it has recorded OK - IE it is in the library ready to watch etc. But when you press play it goes blank like it is about to play then a green pop up appears that says 'Playback Stopped' and it goes back to the library!

It is really frustrating, any thoughts?!

Hey Lisa

Looks like it didn't record properly, can you tell me if you can record and watch other shows alright? How long has this been happening and on what channel have you experienced this problem?

Cheers!

We have things recorded all the time that we can watch no problem, it is totally sporadic when it comes to recurrence and channel.

Worst thing is it seems to happen on something we REALLY want to watch!!

On the library it looks totally normal - its got the run time etc. doesn't say there was a problem with the transmission or anything.

Can nobody help with this? please?!

Hi Lisa,

The good old S7090 aye? I have certainly had my fair share of 'quirks' with this device and I am on a first name basis with some of the folks at DishTV. (I must say their technical support guys are very friendly and helpful.)

I have had a similar problem with my unit where the S7090 should have recorded an hour long show but stopped playing back after a few minutes, with the same 'Playback stopped' message.

In my case the Library only showed the few minutes it 'reported' as recording and what it would actually playback.

I say 'reported' (In quotes) because if I inserted a USB Flash drive into the s7090 and copied the programme onto it, I could watch the ENTIRE program on my PC...   Spooky!

So you might want to give the USB Flash drive a try if you really want to watch the programme and don't want to suffer the 'On demand' services on the web.

I would certainly check that your s7090 firmware is up to date. If it is not then download the latest version from the DishTV website and install it. (It may not recover your recording but will hopefully stop it happening again.)

If all is up to date I would certainly send an email to support@dishtv.co.nz and give them as much information as you have got.

Hope this all helps

Alan
