Does it actually record the repeats or just show them as being booked?
When I series link on my Panasonic it shows them all as being booked to record but only records the ones I actually book and not the +1 channels or repeats. Just the way the EPG works. It sometimes can cause unnecessary conflicts too. If you get the repeats recording as well then just use Timer Record instead. That way it will only record the ones you set.
I have seen this sort of thing happen too. (Not on Coro Street. Not a fan sorry.) It happens on some shows but not others.
It never happens when booking recordings on channels with a +1 (i.e. A half hour program doesn't record once then again an hour later on +1) but it certainly occurs with repeats. Not always but sometimes.
Someone with some indepth Freeview techo knowledge may be able to confirm my theory... Here it is:
Every program is given some sort of 'Freeview ID' number by the broadcaster. (We viewers never see it or are aware of it.)
So, if a program is broadcast (in Prime time) and then repeated a few days later at a later time. (e.g. Coro, Limitless, Filthy Rich etc) then the repeated program needs to be assigned a different ID number otherwise your recorder will think it is just another episode of your show and record it as part of your series booking.
I reckon the broadcasters are just slack, uneducated, incompetent, or not that interested in loading up the Freeview EPG. We see this constantly with Progams starting earlier than their EPG advertised time, EPG pogam descriptions cut off in mid word, EPG not updated in a timely fashion when schedules are changed, Single episode programs loaded as a series. I could go on..
exactly why dont like series link and programme the timer manually
also see that the "featured" or first run of a series on igloo seems to be seperate from all the repeats during the next week
